Kagoshima, Japan
Kagoshima’s unique climate, with its rich volcanic soil and perfect balance of sun and rain, creates the ideal environment for growing premium tea leaves. This is why Kagoshima is celebrated as one of Japan’s top matcha-producing regions, offering unmatched depth of flavor and vibrant color.
A Brief History
Tea cultivation in Kagoshima dates back over 400 years, brought to the region by monks and tea masters who recognized the land’s exceptional potential. Since then, generations of farmers have refined their craft, passing down techniques that preserve the integrity and purity of the leaves.
At Daruma Matcha, we honor this legacy by sourcing directly from Sueyoshi Seicha Kobo, a family-owned tea farm dedicated to organic, sustainable practices. Each leaf is handpicked and stone-ground in small batches, ensuring the highest quality in every pinch of matcha powder.
